ACANA Adult Small Breed
For Small Breed Dogs 1 Year and Older
Mother Nature evolved dogs of all breeds as carnivores, biologically adapted for a diet rich and varied in meats, with smaller amounts of fruits, vegetables and grasses.
That’s why we loaded ACANA Adult Small Breed with cage-free Cobb chicken and whole eggs from local prairie farms, wild-caught flounder from North Vancouver Island, and sun-ripened fruits & vegetables from the Okanagan Valley – all delivered fresh and preservative-free each day to nourish your dog completely.
Prepared from Canada’s best and freshest ingredients in our award-winning kitchens, ACANA is a delicious way to keep your little dog healthy, happy, and strong.

Based on this biological fact, and to produce a nutritional analysis that mirrors the diet Mother Nature would provide for your dog, ACANA is loaded with nourishing meat proteins and fats, while limiting unwanted carbohydrates and high-glycemic grains

ACANA mirrors the meat and protein concentrated diets that all dogs are evolved to eat, while reducing the carbohydrates and high-glycemic grains that cause blood sugar levels to rise and fluctuate.
Compared to conventional foods, ACANA delivers more calories from protein and fat and fewer calories from carbohydrates, reducing the risk of obesity and diabetes and promoting your dog’s peak health.
Metabolic Energy for ACANA Adult Small Breed is 3676 kcal/kg (441 kcal per 250 ml cup) with 31% of energy from protein, 43% from chicken and fish oils, and 26% from fruits, vegetables and steel-cut oats.
Your Dog Is Special
Just like you, your dog is a unique individual and his feeding requirements will vary with his breed, environment, age and activity.
That’s why we suggest using this chart as a starting point, and monitoring your dog’s weight and adjusting his rations as needed. We also recommend feeding him twice daily and always keeping fresh, clean water available.
When switching diets, it’s important to transition your dog as it takes time for his digestive system to adapt to the richer nutrient levels in ACANA. Over a 5-7 day period, gradually mix in ACANA, increasing the amount each day so that by day 7 you are feeding 100% ACANA.
He’ll love the change – we guarantee it!
